2) I should add that it's easy to judge him as a desk soldier but this really is him trying, remembering that back in Argentina, the Junta have largely abandoned him to his fate unless they see a real winner in his plans. So let's look at them...

June 9th 1982: First, General Menendez calls on the Argentine Air Force to bomb targets at Mount Kent and Estancia House... he receives the reply that they are unable to do so with the resources and manpower to hand, as other missions take priority: can't blame him for trying!

2) The Junta back home haven't been especially helpful thus far, particularly with coordinated air strikes, but now, he does receive some help from them, albeit in a rather underhanded way... 🙄
