We at the Survey are all so very deeply saddened to hear the news about Elain Harwood. What a remarkable one off individual- she will be missed by many in so many ways. Here she is back in 2015 at the happy occasion of the launch of Space, Hope and Brutalism.

Reading Saint Andrew's account of the #Pantheon in Survey of London 'Oxford Street', 2020 This famous C18th place of entertainment was built on the plot of several gardens The watercolour shows the side entrance in Poland St, up and down which I used to walk to work a lifetime ago

Fascinating film showing how close inspection of fabric coupled with detailed knowledge of London's development allows detailed history to be drawn from a typical London street, in Clerkenwell. Aileen Reid and Sarah Milne. Survey of London academia.edu/video/bjRwD1?e…

We recently bid a fond farewell to the brilliant Philip Temple, who retired after 38 Survey yrs. In colleague Colin Thom's words, he helped steer the Survey's identity thru all manner of changes & his commitment, tenacity & imagination were exceptional. He will be sorely missed!
