We're supporting Greenpeace France, Les Amis de la Terre FR and Notre Affaire à Tous take action against TotalEnergies over greenwashing. Its ’net zero’ marketing strategy lets Total pose as a climate hero, while its continues to fuel worsening climate change. bit.ly/35jL7EE

"Shareholders should vote against the directors of banks who are hiding their exposure to climate risk." 💯 This is where engagement has the potential to be really powerful. theguardian.com/business/2022/…

"Climate activists are sometimes depicted as dangerous radicals. But the truly dangerous radicals are the countries that are increasing the production of fossil fuels. Investing in new fossil fuel infrastructure is moral and economic madness." -António Gueterres, UN Sec Gen #IPCC

#IPCC report notes "persistently high-levels of public & private fossil fuel-related financing continue to be of major concern." Banking on Climate Chaos notes fossil fuel financing from the world’s 60 largest banks reached nearly USD $4.6T in 6 years bit.ly/3Kgu0CU

In light of yesterday’s IPCC report, it doesn’t bode well that the banks providing the most financing to fossil fuels have the weakest policies : for Capital Monitor | New Statesman Media Group capitalmonitor.ai/sector/energy-…

My message in the face of the recent IPCC report? Whether we are driven by rage or by theory, by creativity or by education, whether we are doctors, activists, authors, musicians, lawyers or mothers, there is a role for everyone in the climate movement.

BREAKING: The government's new #EnergyStrategy ❌ More oil and gas ❌ No insulation ❌ Weak on cheap renewables This strategy won't lower people’s bills or make our energy secure. But investment in renewables and insulation can.

In the week the UN IPCC warned that rapid climate action is humanity's priority, the UK govt's energy plan actually increases fossil fuel use. Smart thinking would be ramping up renewable energy and retrofitting every house in the UK. #EnergyStrategy bit.ly/3xb047f

🚨STOP JACKDAW 🚨 The UK gov could approve a new gas field, owned & operated by fossil fuel giant Shell This won't lower our energy bills or create dependable energy, but would create a much pollution as half of Scotland Together we stopped Cambo. Now we need to #StopJackdaw

UK Divest (@ukdivest) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Great thread from the folks at Divest East Sussex detailing Exxon's plans to spend billions developing new oil fields - not exactly what we'd call a successful engagement outcome. Our councils must stop waiting around for oil companies to change and #DivestNow!

The government recently shared its plans to tackle the energy crisis. It could have set out a bold plan to secure affordable energy for everyone. But instead, it missed an open goal. We have the solutions. We just need government to act. bit.ly/3JBtcY3

Hey @KwasiKwarteng - you said recently "gas is more expensive than renewable energy - so we need to move away from gas." So why support new fields like Jackdaw? You know that approving Jackdaw won’t lower bills. Do the right thing and #StopJackdaw

SurreyPensionActNow (@surreypensions) 's Twitter Profile Photo

For a liveable climate, we can’t have any new oil, gas or coal projects. Boris Johnson as PM it is your job to keep people in the UK safe - and you can't do that by approving new oil and gas fields like Jackdaw. Time to pick a side: Shell, or everyone else #StopJackdaw
