This reminds me of when I was considering my doctoral program. I told my wife, "It might take me 10 years to get a doctorate." She said, "I guess you need to decide, in 10 years, do you want to be 10 years older with a doctorate or 10 years older without a doctorate." 🤔

Just under 10 years (9 years). I often took one class per semester and traveled to the WSU Tri-Cities campus once a week for class (3 hours round trip). Last class of my program was offered synchronous online via a distance learning classroom at Yakima Valley College. Old school!

The good news is that, since I did "pay-as-you-go" for one class each semester, I have no idea how much I actually paid for my doctoral degree - and I don't want to know!!! 😀 Once I got the degree, many doors were opened. State work groups. Adjunct professor. It was worth it!
