What pleasure to attend the grand opening of the new ACI Jet Center at the SLO airport & celebrate the county’s $500,000 investment in Cuesta’s Aircraft Maintenance Technician program. This is going to be a big deal and I’m proud of the county’s partnership with Cuesta and ACI!

The Community Room at the Atascadero Public Library will be open Sunday and Monday 12-5 p.m. this weekend (Labor Day weekend) during the heat wave so that anyone can come in and cool off. Stay cool!

Celebrated SLO County Farm Bureau’s 100th anniversary last night. These great advocates for our farmers and ranchers honored Dee Lacey with the Heritage Award for years of service & important community efforts, and my Cayucos friends Jon and Anna Negranti with the Freddie Award.

Last Friday, we celebrated important bridge replacements on Highway 1. The one pictured is adjacent to our beloved, and now publicly-owned, Dog Beach between Cayucos & Morro Bay. The new span will meet modern seismic standards and have much wider shoulders for bicycle safety!
