#HistFicMay Day 3 - why historical fiction? I've always enjoyed visiting heritage sites & studying history - which sparks ideas for stories. It's lovely having freedom to speculate about gaps in the historical record & write with emotion. It's an exercise in empathy.

Day 3 - #HistFicMay Why historical fiction? I’ve always loved history and for me, it’s the personal stories that make it come alive. My writing always involves people living in different eras, backed up with research. What they say, do and think is influenced by the time.

Day 3 #HistFicMay - why historical fiction? I love bringing real historical events/places to life through storytelling, going back to my debut - The Ragged Valley - which examined the Great Sheffield Flood disaster of 1864 through the lens of a fictional love story.

Day 4 #HistFicMay - do I write other genres? As Eva Glyn I write destination fiction, mainly #Croatia, but within that two are #WW2 #HistFic #Romance dual timelines. The others are stories of friendship and #NewBeginnings. #SummerReading #WomensFiction
