As we increasingly rely on for product recommendations and searches, can companies game these models to enhance the visibility of their products?

Our latest work provides answers to this question & demonstrates that LLMs can be manipulated to boost product visibility!…

You want a new, fun data set for teaching? Here you go. Someone recorded the average/max/change from baseline pulses of folks watching horror movies. They used this data to rate AND rank order the film. My RA added Rotten Tomato ratings and year of release. Analyze away!

I don't know if we can or will build massively capable autonomous AI with long-term planning abilities. But I do know this: whether such AI gets built and deployed should be decided by us through governments, not markets. We make the case science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

I asked the Devin AI agent to go on reddit and start a thread where it will take website building requests

It did that, solving numerous problems along the way. It apparently decided to charge for its work. Going to take it down before it fools anyone... reddit.com/r/forhire/comm…

I successfully defended my PhD thesis 'Life-Trajectories as Symbolic Language,' a detailed overview of the work. It marks the end (or a pause) in my work with transformers and large-scale registry data at Sune Lehmann lab (@DTU_Compute). What a crazy journey it's been! πŸ˜‡

Our recent 24 accepted paper: 'Time to Cite: Modeling Citation Networks w/ Dynamic Impact Single-Event Embedding Model' is now on arXiv: arxiv.org/pdf/2403.00032…

Here, we define single-event dynamic networks, proposing the single-event Poisson Process for their analysis.

A simple implementation of the model is now available at github.com/carlomarxdk/li…. You can try out the workflow with dummy data, + we are planning to add more examples (including finetuning) in the near future.

There has been a lot of talk about the life2vec paper, where researchers from DTU, SODAS and elsewhere turn life event data from the Danish registry into future predictions. In this blog post, the authors explain the power and the limits of life2vec: sodas.ku.dk/research/proce…

Baldwin aimed a .45 Colt and said β€œBang.” Then his life went from Maya, the illusion, to Brahman, the reality. Here’s one of my most personal essays about how this transition awaits us all.

1/ Today in Science, we train a neural net from scratch through the eyes and ears of one child. The model learns to map words to visual referents, showing how grounded language learning from just one child's perspective is possible with today's AI tools. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
