My best PhD memories were of David’s enthusiasm. He always wandered around the lab asking about science. Even with all the administration parts of this job and 50+ people, he never seemed to lose his excitement. Academia needs this. I learned so much from him! Congratulations!!!

This story is published back-to-back with Summer Thyme, who deleted 45 microexons (only two in common with us) and assessed larval brain activity, morphology and behavior. They also found that most individual mutants had minimal or no phenotypes: elifesciences.org/reviewed-prepr…. 9/9

I'm delighted to have had the opportunity to see the amazing science going on in Queensland and share our work. Thank you for hosting!

It’s been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). I’m reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS, indeterminate dendritic cell histiocytosis

1/ After residency at Mass General Hospital, I reported to Atlanta to meet my fellow CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service Officers. I have never felt so intimidated by my peers The best and the brightest, they were star clinicians, had served in disaster zones; MD/PhDs and MSF.

Last night my brilliant friend with 20 years of expertise in Neuroscience including a decade at NIDA was fired because she was recently promoted for her outstanding performance and it triggered the probation period. This is not making NIH more efficient, this is not making us

A large portion of grants awarded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health cannot be funded for the foreseeable future because of an indefinite hold on submissions to the Federal Register, according to an email reviewed by The Transmitter. By Angie Voyles Askham thetransmitter.org/funding/federa…

Ubadah Sabbagh (@neubadah) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This is illegal. The courts put a restraining older on halting NIH funding and the federal register is making an end-run around that, killing new grants or renewals. Unchallenged, it’ll lead to layoffs of scientists & support staff. Will disrupt nondilutive biotech funding too.
