Noting that apart from Lee Anderson who flipped to Reform, the other three Reform wins are, quite literally, geographically marginal. These voters will feel ignored and have voted accordingly. Levelling up investment can win them back.

I think the @bbc messed up there - they cut to Brighton Kemptown for a predictable Labour hold. Think they thought they were going to Brighton Pavillion for Sian Berry 's contest...

I'm scanning through the election results, mostly to see how many Green candidates have kept their deposits. It's a big deal for a party with no big backers to find £300k for deposits, only to lose most of them on a 4.5% vote. Good too see plenty have kept them :-)

Brighton Pavillion hold - Sian Berry gets 55% of the vote! That's four Green MPs. Well done Caroline Lucas - you built that groundwork over 14 years of hard groundwork.

None of the TV pundits seem to understand how constituency targeting works. They see averages and polls, but they don't take into account the door-to-door, long term, consistent communication that makes the difference. Voters turn out for candidates who listen to them.

Kier Starmer has put James Timpson in charge of prisons and Sir Patrick Vallance in charge of science. In that spirit of appointing experts, how about putting Greg Jackson in charge of customer service at HM Revenue & Customs ?

Dear Daily Mail Online, The Telegraph and BBC . I read that the man who murdered Carol, Hannah and Louise Hunt 'has yet to speak'. Good. I don't want to hear a single word from him, ever. The women he killed didn't get to speak, so please don't give him a voice.

I had a quick scoot round The RHS Tatton Show this afternoon - got to say, it looks superb. 10 show gardens - all to a very high standard, the 'ginnel' gardens, community gardens and so many innovate long borders that I lost count! Hope to see you there...

Inspired by Alistair Griffiths , I bought an Aero propagator a month ago. The results are astonishing... Styrax, Edgeworthia, Abelia, Cornus kousa, Cornus controversa, Heptacodium, Acers - all callousing, showing root initials or rooting within three weeks.

What a day at The RHS Tatton Flower Show! A Gold medal for our Floral Marquee display (first 12/12 judging score too :-) ) and the visitors loved our Moongate Garden. The show is packed with inspiration - open till Sunday. Hope you can make it....

I've said this before, but I think it's time to go. It's ever more apparent that Musk is using this platform (which he owns, of course) for political purposes. See you on FB, Instagram or LinkedIn.

I'm going to close this account on Friday 9th August. Musk's use of it to challenge the UK's legal system, RT'ing outright lies, snide comments about K. Harris and much more = tipping point. Hard to break a 13 year old, mostly fun habit, but it's time, sadly. Thanks, everyone. x
