Our new paper is out in Science. What is the synaptic plasticity rule in the brain, we asked. It turns out there are multiple, even within individual neurons. Congrats Jake! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Our focused ultrasound (FUS) #neuromodulation paper now out in molecularpsychiatry! Low-intensity FUS attenuates #amygdala fMRI BOLD signal. Broad therapeutic effects in patients with once-daily FUS. Next up, the RCT! Thanks to One Mind, who funded this! rdcu.be/ejcYD

We present Panda: a foundation model for nonlinear dynamics pretrained on 20,000 chaotic ODE discovered via evolutionary search. Panda zero-shot forecasts unseen ODE best-in-class, and can forecast PDE despite having never seen them during training (1/8) arxiv.org/abs/2505.13755

1/6 Why does the brain maintain such precise excitatory-inhibitory balance? Our new preprint explores a provocative idea: Small, targeted deviations from this balance may serve a purpose: to encode local error signals for learning. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… led by Julian Rossbroich

Using a field-theoretic formulation of a stochastic leaky integrate-and-fire model to study the phase diagram of networks of spiking #neurons, researchers show that #networks with observed #nonlinear behaviors display metastability. Read the paper: go.aps.org/3Tc7Nvu

New research shows long-term learning is shaped by dopamine signals that act as partial reward prediction errors. The study in mice reveals how early behavioural biases predict individual learning trajectories. Find out more ⬇️ sainsburywellcome.org/web/blog/long-…

People should know what controllability is before claiming to design a control input (or an optimal control input). You can design a control input using linear control theory principles only when the original nonlinear system is controllable (if you are using Koopman formalism).

🚨New preprint !! Interpreting the training process of a neural network as a temporal network trajectory, we found a regime where such trajectory becomes chaotic. Rather than a nuisance, such chaotic mixing boosts training! w/ P. Jiménez, Miguel C. Soriano arxiv.org/abs/2506.08523
