Getting ready for the immunology session at the Lorne Infection and Immunity meeting. Sometimes the air conditioning in the auditorium is quite strong so it pays to dress warmly VIIN #lorneiandi #safetyfirst

Well done Long Huynh on a schmick presentation of his work on artemisinin resistance in malaria parasites at the Lorne infection and immunity meeting. Beautiful imaging! VIIN #Lorneiandi

As usual, some lovely microscopy from Ben Liffner, showing unprecedented detail of how Plasmodium sporozoites get made and how they work. #Lorneiandi VIIN

Wonderful overview at #Lorneiandi of the current status and future threats of influenza from Patrick Reading WHO CC Influenza Melbourne UniMelb MDHS. Some scary scenarios, lucky to have such dedicated and clever people working on this VIIN

Terrific scheme - particularly note the support for longer study travel by, for example parasitologists and other biomedical scientists

Is it only parasitologists that are happy to sit through one talk on maggots, then another on worms in horseshit before an evening meal together? What other weirdos do this? Great to get together with the Melbourne Aust Soc for Para folks- thanks Lucas Huggins for organising.

Malaria colleagues, please do join in this online game of “Where’s Wally?” at BioMalPar, as well as the advanced version for we ageing members: “Where’s Wally’s growing bald patch?” #EMBLMalaria

Hey ChrisHunter we had a terrific Immunology session at BioMalPar this week in Heidelberg. Geoff McFadden even asked a immunologyish question. But am I correct in understanding from the session that you folks are still not all *100%* agreed about how we aquire immunity?
