UBI isn't about giving money to do nothing. It's about money to do ANYTHING. This is in stark contrast to traditional welfare benefits that require people keep their incomes sufficiently low to keep getting it.

Seeing old people do physical labour to earn a living and to think 'they didn't wait for freebies' is a stark testament to how capitalism has brainwashed people to be evil.

I forgot who, but someone did a deep dive on Twitter about how housing is tied to abuse and marriages of convenience, and how if housing were guaranteed, more women would divorce. Some people are literally trapped in relationships because of housing.

Peacefully protesting a genocide gets more anger out of the White House than the genocide itself

I don't want to fully theorize this yet, but it is kind of weird that the biggest story in the US about Israel / Palestine is about college campuses when there are multiple mass graves being uncovered and constant bombardment in Gaza right now ('as we tweet').

I don't want to be 'at the top.' I want a job that gives me health insurance and a livable income, and that doesn't take away my quality of life with hours-long commutes that completely drain me as a chronically ill person.

On the same weekend that the house passed $26.4b to Israel and a ban on TikTok, the Biden White House is firmly planting itself on the side of smearing the peaceful Columbia student protests––who have been subject to abuse from college admin and NYPD––as violent and racist.

a super funny and ridiculously over the top gorefest. i love the group dynamic and is way funnier than alot of actual comedies out there. the radio silence guys love their haunted houses and exploding blood bags. akin to fright night in it’s dark joy with the vampire premise.
