A simple drill for spinners practicing to achieve more top spin. Top spin will drag the ball down into the surface. Replace the stumps with any obstacle which challenges the bowler to get it over the obstacle and then into length with spin. Doesn’t count if it’s a ‘lob up.’

If you’re running in with both hands on the ball to hide the shiney side then run in quicker. This will make up for the fact that you’ll be losing a little bit of momentum because your arms won’t be working quite as efficiently as when you’re running in without hiding the ball.
