If you agree its completely unacceptable for BBC1 to report pledges broken by the Government as promises broken by the “NHS” please RT. Let’s make it a million today & shame BBC1 into an apology!

I feel guilty leaving the department knowing no more beds will come up overnight, ambulances will keep coming in and yet already there is no room to see anyone. And so I leave far later than I should, having no doubt been ineffectual for hours 😔 #oncallwoes #KW5years

England performance. This is the 12 hour post DTA data. Urgent need to improve the flow through departments and improve patient experience. Nuffield Trust Quality Watch And remember this 12 hours of stay after that moving point DTA - not total time in the ED

Split EDs need more space. Is it time to move minor illness / injury back to the community and adopt the Norwegian system of no ‘walk in’ patients allowed. ED becomes referral only (ambulance, primary care, and 111). We cannot deteriorate back to ‘business as usual’.

On the Chorley A&E controversy... Health minister Edward Argar confirms Matt Hancock had no legit power to stop the reconfig/closure. But when DHSC holds the purse strings on big capital project ££s (which Lancashire badly needs), you 100% need to stay on their good side

Here we go then... Matt Hancock's out-of-process intervention in the Chorley A&E closure now being used to try and keep another small dept in Devon open. The mention of North by North West refers to this-hsj.co.uk/expert-briefin…

More bad news for emergency clincians at Preston/Chorley Hospitals... Understand they've been told Chorley A&E must return to 12-hour opening from Monday (it's been at 8 hrs in recent months) The clinicians are adamant the service is already unsafe, & this'll make it even worse

'If a local reconfig is against interests of a local area, then SoS should be able to intervene' - says Matt Hancock But who decides what's in their interest? With Chorley A&E reconfig -which he has stopped- there were multiple reviews by clincians & expert grps recommeding it

Matt Hancock claims the closure of Chorley A&E was 'not justified by the clinical evidence' Would be very good to see the reports/evidence he's using to support that statement... The local leaders have published theirs here: healthierlsc.co.uk/central-lancs/…

Matt Hancock told Health and Social Care Committee he used 'incredibly difficult & complicated' powers to stop Chorley A&E reconfig Yet his white paper said SoS is 'only able to intervene upon receiving LA referral' & must then convene a panel These things haven't happened, so which is it?

This is a bloody stupid idea. In fact it is beyond stupidity. It is verging on insanity. Is it really beyond the wit of man to grasp the need to unblock flow right through the system? Expanding ED without a magic staff tree will result in dead patients. standard.co.uk/news/london/a-…

I understand LTHTR are employing another Management Consultant to tell the Exec how to do their job! They will pay a fortune, wait for the report, not act on its recommendations and here we go again!
