Great start on some short, accessible, and interesting poster presentations from Dr Hope Schlesinger on depression and suicidality in people with post-stroke aphasia and Emma Patchwood on #ACT and Wellbeing After Stroke (WAterS) study #OPSYRIS2021

Enjoying all the great poster presentations at #OPSYRIS2021! Especially intrigued by Hannah Foote's work on training paraprofessionals to deliver #AcceptanceandCommitmentTherapy to stroke survivors. Great work. Can't wait to see more from the Wellbeing After Stroke (WAterS) study team! #StrokeResearch

I'm slow at posting things! But I'd feel remiss not to mention the fabulous #HealthChampions event last Saturday 30th at Millenium Powerhouse in Moss Side where I chatted to a diverse range of folks about Wellbeing After Stroke (WAterS) study and #research in general. I look forward to more collabs!

And an exciting start by Singing Medicine - we love singing for wellbeing... perhaps we should integrate some (mindful) singing into WAterS.... what do you think? 😉

"Physically, there can be a range of severity of stroke.... but emotionally, there is no such thing as a minor stroke" - powerful stuff at #uksf23 in the #neuropsychological #rehabilitation session. We need better reach for psychology support. We hope waters will help

Enjoyed this #uksf23 session and will be using Stroke Association communication pack resources to support #research #inclusion in Wellbeing After Stroke (WAterS) study. Also recommend checking out resources from Speakeasy charity: speakeasy-aphasia.org.uk/aphasia/resear…

Wonderful talk from Suzie Wang - there is so much more we can do to support people from #minoritised #ethnic #groups to receive #peer #support after stroke! We hope Wellbeing After Stroke (WAterS) study will generate more cross-cutting learning in this field

"Go where Black & Asian people are" say #uksf23 panel... consider existing groups/charities; faith groups. Don't underestimate the #resource required to do #pcpie in new groups. WAterS-2 is investing a LOT of time & passion on this. It's worth it - we're already seeing benefit
