If you didn't get to #bikenyc, walk or run, get out the next two Saturdays, Aug 9 and 16th. It was the best car-free ride I have done in NYC. You can see the full Streetfilms (Now 1,118+ films!) HERE: youtube.com/watch?v=zPu1rT…

Anyone see any mayoral candidates at Summer Streets 2025? With tens of thousands (more? maybe 100k??) people out for 8 hours seems like a great place to hang with NYers during one of NYC'S most popular programs! Jim Walden Zohran Kwame Mamdani Mayor Eric Adams Andrew Cuomo Curtis Sliwa

Streetfilms (Now 1,118+ films!) has done more films about daylighting than anyone in history. Here's an article from about 2 years ago featuring just a few. Since then another dozen have been made. Let's pass it NYC Council. Calm the cranks down! openplans.org/blog/streetfil…

Making changes to the streets of NYC with people at the center, and my what fun it is. Thrilled w this Fast Company article that dives into the work we've done over the years to make Meatpacking District the most walkable nabe in NYC. #urbanplanning #manhattan fastcompany.com/91378463/meatp…

NEW: The Adams administration has agreed to unpause the work on the 34th Street busway as part an agreement to rezone a slice of Midtown, Streetsblog has learned exclusively. nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/08/06/its…

A belated 34th Street Busway is a BIG win for riders and better than no busway, but riders across the city are still waiting for their stalled bus projects to move forward too. If only Fordham Road's bus riders had a convenient rezoning agreement to bargain with the Mayor :(

Now that 34th Street is getting a busway, what's next? 🎉34th Street Victory Lap Bus Race!🎉 We'll see you tomorrow, at 4:30 p.m., for a once-in-a-generation battle between Team Pedestrian and Team Bus on 34th Street!

Since DSW Auto Repair opened along 34AveOpenStreets protected #bikenyc lane it's been chaos. Another typical journey: a dozen+ cars parked on sidewalks, 2x or 3x parked(!!) with lane completely blocked, kids forced to walk in street. Never enforcement. Can we get something done about

Every single time I come to a light in the city whether walking, biking or - occasionally- in a car I see drivers do the most incredibly illegal, dangerous things. Every light change I see at least one: red light running, speeding, double parking, stopping car in x-walk & more.

We heard from New Yorkers about the traffic changes they want to see on 34th Street in Manhattan. The busway we’re going to add to this busy thoroughfare will make it safer AND faster so everyone can get around as they Get Stuff Done. That’s real results for the working-class

“Hoboken was able to roll out daylighting en masse by starting with low-cost interventions like paint and plastic sticks, which can start for as low as $1,500 per intersection.”

On my way home yesterday I saw at least 3 NYPD stings to trying to catch #bikenyc doing something wrong, I caught this one because I saw them here a few days ago and anticipated correctly. In all 3 cases the riders went by in clumps and no one was pulled over. Streetsblog New York
