As we begin #InternationalWomensMonth and Black Mental Health Week, we want to recognize and thank Lethicia Foadjo for coming to speak to us last week on the importance of Black Women’s Mental Health and self care. It’s always nice to have a visit from a St. Pius X High School alum.

Today, as we mark International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we take a moment to reflect on what we have learned about standing up for all and giving a voice to all to Share Their Story. #OCSBStandingTogether @OCSBEquity OCSB Black Employee Network (BEN) youtube.com/watch?v=NDKOzF…

Congrats to Sandra de Souza for being recognized as an OCSB Advocate for Black Brilliance tonight for her continued dedication to our BSA at St. Pius X High School. Mrs. de Souza creates a space for young Black students to express themselves freely where we feel valued, safe and understood.

A big thank you to Let's Talk Science for taking time to speak with us about science yesterday! We had so much fun exploring new things, extracting banana DNA and working with the Ozobots. We truly enjoyed the #STEM experience and loved having you with us! St. Pius X High School OCSB Deep Learning

Yesterday our BSA leads, Ifetayo and Hillary, were able to represent St. Pius X High School at the final Black Student Advisory Council of the year at the Ottawa Catholic School Board office. Throughout the year these leaders worked together to shape how to support Black students at all levels.

We were excited to participate in the Black Youth Forum earlier this week and to be in community with other Black Youth from across the city. The workshops we participated in guided us through the different elements of being that unite us all. #BYF25OCDSB OCSB Black Employee Network (BEN) @OCSBEquity

Was great meeting and welcome our future Grade 9s from Frank Ryan Catholic Intermediate School today at the BSA table. Can’t wait to see you all and get to know you better at St. Pius X High School next year!

Thank you to everyone who came out and contributed to our end of the year potluck and final BSA meeting of 2024/25 yesterday. It was great to have time to relax and recharge our souls, minds and bodies with our community at St. Pius X High School before exams start next week.
