P3/4 began our new topic today all about the different climates around the world. We started off by looking the Australian desert and the different animals that live there. Practicing taking notes while watching Deadly 60. SBC Education LiteracySBC

Today in P2/3, some ice cream making in the outdoor learning space, with raspberry and mint as a topping, using our ‘Imagination’ Learning Power. As well as hiding place for our animals in our pet store, and a group of learners using their ‘Be Cooperative’ Learning power!

Learning another language, Duolingo is a favourite this term in P6/7. We use our ‘have a go’, ‘keep improving’ and ‘enjoy learning’ learning powers as we participate. Lots of personal challenge goals set too!

Today some P1’s were applying their maths learning into their play. These pupils chose to make the largest number they could using numicon. They counted in 2’s to find out what the number was and could tell that the number was odd because the end spot didn’t have a partner.

This P1/2 pupil really demonstrated his Don’t Give Up learning power to be able to get the ball into the cup!

Such a busy day in P6/7 we didn’t take any pictures! Lots of superb reading aloud for our best map text, class novel and sharing information texts. Great prosody! This afternoon we were exploring patterns and relationships within numbers when finding the product of two numbers.

This afternoon, P2/3 tried different vegetables that they had learnt the names for in French, each learner used their ‘Have a Go’ Learning Power to express if they liked or disliked each!

Using their 'Be Curious' LP these pupils were learning about managing the flow of water and noticed that they were able to make it move upwards. Future engineers in the making!

Primary 5/6 were learning more about their maths topic (time) going over how to read the time and converting 12 hour clocks to 24 hour clocks. SBC Education SBCMaths

Our adventures up Gala Hill this week were a lot wetter than last week, but that did not stop us! Mr and Mrs Crisp tasked us to make journey sticks, we found different things like leaves and pinecones and tied them on by wrapping thread around them. SBC Education SBCOutdoorEducation

Our enterprising P7s have begun their fundraising plan. First up is the 100 Square where you could win £200 in cash. But be quick as numbers are selling fast.

The P5 year group were together for their Countryside Day research this morning. We asked ourselves 3 questions related to our theme and found answers before presenting to the rest of the class. We are building a picture of what can go on our poster. BorderUnion SBC Education
