Over the last few weeks we have really enjoyed learning how we are all unique and different but all special! 🥰

In our art lesson today, Year 2 used the skill of ‘continuous line drawing’. They drew a selection of items from nature, including sticks, stones and willow. ✍️

🍃SENSORY ROOM🍃We love our new sensory room in school. It is looking amazing and provides the most perfect safe, calming and therapeutic sensory experience for our children.

In maths, the children enjoyed learning how to partition numbers to 1,000 in different ways. They used base 10 to help them understand how to partition the numbers. ➕➖🧮

This morning in Maths, we were learning to compare numbers to 1,000. The children enjoyed playing a game where they had to roll dice with their partner to make a 3 digit number. Then, the partner who got the greater number won a point. ➕🟰🧮

Today in maths, we used digit cards to make a 4 digit number and then compared our numbers with our partner to see who had the greatest/smallest number.

In PE with Miss Moss, we worked on sprinting. All the children gave 100% effort and finished the lesson with a relay race.

In RE this week we have been learning and discussing the Nicene Creed, we know that saying it makes us closer to God. We also decorated beautiful prayer booklets including the prayers we say in school ✝️🙏

We had such a creative art lesson today! We did some finger painting in spirals and made spirals with chalk in the Key Stage 1 yard 🌀

This week we have found out that no two families are the same but they are all special and we all love our own very much! 🥰

Another set of excellent performances from our Y5/6 boys in this evening’s CSSP football matches. Much to be proud of with one round of matches to be played next week. Well done boys👏⚽️

We were very excited to welcome two new classmates into Year 2 today! Say hello to Lolly and Glow, our class stick insects! It will be wonderful for the children to take care of them and observe how they grow!

To celebrate World Poetry Day, these two Y6 pupils brought in a poem from home and shared it with the class. Great effort from you both📚😊

For National Poetry Day, we looked at the poem Please Mrs Butler by Allan Ahlberg. We practised reciting with a partner before performing to the class. Then, we came together for a class performance with actions.

Lots of fun was had during our science lesson today. We explored our school environment for minibeasts and other living things. We collected what we found in our bug viewers and then recorded them on our sheet 🐞 🐜 🐛

In History, we looked at different artefacts and became archaeologists! The children came up with four ideas of what the item was used for and the rest of the class were asked to guess which one was the right answer. They all really enjoyed this activity! 😀

Y6 pupils enjoyed the final lesson of the week with Mark from Konflux Theatre where pupils acted out role plays, discussed school lunches and ended with a quiz all based around the theme of reduce, reuse and recycle. We also ended the week by celebrating another Y6 birthday🎂😊

In our art lesson today, the Year two children absolutely loved using wax relief to draw and paint the leaves we collected. We used wax crayons and water colour paints to create our beautiful leaves! 🍁

In Science, the children enjoyed learning about how muscles work. They used cardboard, elastic bands and split pins to make their own arms and muscles. Then, they used these to explain how muscles contract and relax. 💪🧑‍🔬🧪🩻

Today, we were lucky to have a visitor in our school teaching us all about recycling and looking after God’s creation. The children mind mapped ways to get to school instead of using a car and they created a freeze frame. They also took part in a quiz about pollution. 🌍🌱
