We welcome the confirmed end of the delay to new Modern Apprenticeships but are deeply concerned that this delay was ever allowed to happen in the first place.

Our governments need to stop treating apprentices as an afterthought.

It shouldn’t have taken concerted lobbying by STF (Scottish Training Federation) for SNP to finally sort out funding for modern apprenticeships. SNP shd offer an urgent apology for leaving 1000s of young people in limbo & ensure funding to avoid such a situation reoccurring.

GOV.UK have announced 20,000 more apprenticeships and significant increase in budget for England. And yet, we are expected to continue with 'business as normal' until the Scottish Government and Skills Development Scotland eventually agree the budget. Uncertainty every year is horrible The SNP !
