About 6 months ago Carole and I were interviewed for a French podcast called Franceformation. We talked about our move to France and how we are both adjusting. You can listen to the interview here: yourfranceformation.com/2022/09/14/epi…

Most Saturday mornings there is an old book market in Nice. A few of the vendors also sell postcards. This morning I bought 57 vintage Vence postcards to add to my collection. Here are a few of my favorites from today's purchase. More here: steveandcaroleinvence.com/vence-postcard…

Hey Delta my wife needs help getting reimbursed for hotel and Uber after her flight was cancelled due to lack of crew. The agent at the time told her to save the receipts. Now everyone keeps giving her the runaround. Can you help?

Early morning sun on the bell tower of the smallest Cathedral in France, Notre Dame de la Nativité (Our Lady of the Nativity) here in Vence. Such beautiful light here in the south of France.

I wrote an article for the online magazine Perfectly Provence about the Fête de la Transhumance in Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, a one day festival celebrating the moving of sheep from low pastures to high pastures. You can read the article on their website: perfectlyprovence.co/my-fete-de-la-…

In Paris last weekend I found a wonderful 1948 folding brochure with information about what to do and see on the Côte d’Azur. It features beautiful watercolor artwork and sepia photographs. Download a PDF copy at the *Steve and Carole in Vence* website. steveandcaroleinvence.com/cote-dazur/

Seems likely to me that Trump specifically told his lawyers not to request a jury in New York just so he could then rant and rave about not getting a jury and how unfair it was and how he was being treated to badly.

How cool is this? Menton, the last French town on the border before you reach Italy, is known world-wide for its lemons. I found this little piece recently at a bookstore in Vence. When you open it there's a tiny "brochure" which folds open to 11 panels with photos and info.

If Carole and I could afford to buy a vacation home here in France I would want it to be in the mountains. And if it was in the mountains, I would definitely want it to be in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, sometimes called the “Switzerland of Nice." steveandcaroleinvence.com/saint-martin-v…

Our department, the Alpes-Maritimes, is famous for its "perched villages." These tiny villages were built on rocky spurs or hilltops where the southern Alpes reach down to the coast. This is one of my favorites, Bonson.

Last weekend I visited the Abbaye de Montmajour, a medieval abbey located near Arles in Provence. One of the most fascinating aspects of this abbey is the "rock cemetery," a collection of more than three dozen graves that were literally carved out of solid rock.

On a recent trip I visited the ruins of the Roman Barbegal aqueducts and mills just outside of Arles. This collection of aqueducts, water wheels, water channels and mills is thought to be "the greatest known concentration of mechanical power in the ancient world."

A few days ago Carole and I drove to the tiny nearby village of Pont du Loup. As it was nearing sunset Carole went into the Confiserie des Gorges du Loup (a wonderful candy shop) to buy some chocolate. Myla and I waited outside and took some photos in the early dusk light.

The Cascade du Courmes in the Gorges du Loup. This wonderful little canyon is only about a 20 minute drive from our house. During dry weather it can be reduced to almost a trickle but during the rainy seasons, and especially after a big rain, it is a magnificent.
