I'm one who agrees that NASCAR's return to Bowman Gray, Rockingham no matter which series is positive revisit to tradition. Understand international appeal, but not so certain dropping unique short track for another road course. We'll see. #nascar

OK, I 'll add that Briscoe' s thrilling win - and the emotions therein (playoffs, Stewart win, etc.), coupled with Harrison Burton victory, have served NASCAR well, again, about what it CAN be opposed to what some think otherwise. Just a thought. #nascar

Was there at your home when your father said "Dale I want you to settle down now!" I was able to watch your achievements in racing. And am fortunate to be here to see the confident, influential and successful man you are. Happy 50th.

A day of long awaited justice for Bob Allison. A day of satisfaction for my colleague Rick Houston and many others. And a day to credit NASCAR for doing the right thing. #nascar

Undderstand Martinsville controversy. But am thinking NASCAR acted upon the only obvious infraction of written rule, by Bell. Others matters of judgement (i.e. "gray area"). My conclusion: Despite all, NASCAR is not going to drop playoffs. #nascar

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Times may seem difficult, but if you stop and think for a moment, yes, you'll find something for which to be thankful. Frankly, I am thankful I'm still here!

I was one of many NASCAR people invited by Jimmy Carter to dinner at the White House. The invitation was extended by a staff member who, believe it or not, tracked me down at a Roanoke bowling alley where I was part of the Times weekly league. I was stunned. #nascar

So sorry to hear about Bill Weber. Always friendly and helpful to me. We shared a few good times on TV. Farewell. #nascar

Good to attend the NHOF inductions. Worthy recipients, for sure. Congratulations to Ralph, Carl and Ricky. Covered Ricky's entire career, from that day in Rockingham when I saw a baby faced kid in a racing uniform and said, "What's this? Some team's mascot?" #nascar

Note about the passing of motorsports journalist Ed Hinton. Were close friends during our early careers but drifted as we advanced, his attitude and personality changed. He was not the"Fast Eddie" he was. But he remained a solid journalist and, unquestionably, a superb writer.

If I understand it, NASCAR has granted 500 starts to elites (Helio) while requiring all its own, including stalwarts, to qualify or go home. Much different from the day A. J. Foyt was required to take a rookie test at Darlington - or else. He did. #nascar

Got to praise my colleague Rick Houston on the next episode of the Scene Vault. He has compiled nearly a HOUR (maybe more) of untold stories from some of NASCAR'S greatest about the Daytona 500. Unbelievable content from some unbelievable amount of work. Don't miss this one!

I get more and more emails from NASCAR related sites with words like ".biockbuster," "stunning," and "controversial." One look reveals it's tabloid stuff. Near junk. Assume many of you experience the same?

Great meeting today for NHOF Pioneer nominees. So many worthy candidates. So many, in fact, that if 10 were inducted for 2025 instead of one, doubt anyone would complain. Tough decisions ahead, for sure. #nascar

Good to see an enthusiastic, sold out grandstand at Rockingham. There may be work to be done, but the future is promising. And that is a good thing. #nascar
