This is the ACTUAL Mission Control for the Apollo Missions, refurbished to how it was for the first moon landing. There’s an amazing multimedia experience where the events of that time are recreated. One of the best things I’ve ever seen.

This is the restored video of Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon 55 years ago today which we used for the NASA's Johnson Space Center Mission Control restoration in 2019. We significantly cleaned up videotape recordings of the EVA to approximate what the flight controllers saw on their

If you told me Netflix was making a seven part series where each episode tells the story of one of the women from Mambo No.5, I would probably believe you.

Often bore pals that I was in on the early days of Crucible Theatre snooker but without much proof. Until this below 👇… a clip from a TV documentary that I missed at the time & finally seeing 40 years later! Dennis Taylor learning the radio ropes!

I will say it again: is is essential that you, as an adult, free yourself of whatever trauma the school system might have given you and realise that learning is a joy and a privilege and that curiosity should forever be a core part of your life.

This is a brilliant piece of journalism by Chloe Hadjimatheou . I've been told by so called "documentary" directors that "the only thing audiences care about is emotion". Reaction to this story shows that they actually care about the truth, and don't appreciate being hoodwinked 🙌

On this date in 1969, the Apollo 11 mission launched from the Kennedy Space Center. What a good reason to watch the best documentary of 2019, 'Apollo 11' (now streaming free on Tubi and Kanopy). Here's our review of the film: buff.ly/2WofOin

I couldn't recommend the Apollo 11 documentary highly enough. It is one of the best movies I've ever seen. These guys were nuts! imdb.com/title/tt876068…

We found this great bit of chatter from during the sleep period after the Apollo 11 moonwalk of the controllers discussing 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Mike Collins's affinity with monitors! #apolloinrealtime #Apollo11 apolloinrealtime.org/11/?t=115:02:0…

I'm in the unique position of having worked on both films, although only tangentially with the former... "8 Days" was an interesting idea, but I feel like the technique of using lip syncing actors didn't really work, and ended up feeling like a gimmick. Apollo 11 allowed

Vividly remember tears being shed during one of our earliest screenings at Sundance Film Festival in 2019 when this scene came round and realising that we'd been involved in making something a bit special. 🙌 The TV transmission depicted here was happening exactly 56 years ago as I post.

Unfortunately this rather sad case just illustrates how many organisations these days simply aren't interested in fact checking, as long as it's a good story. I was told by the director on a recent documentary that the audience "only cares about the emotion" anyway...

Stephen’s account is my favorite account on Twitter. IMO he is the most important archivist alive working on bringing the magic of Apollo 11 to us and caretaking that legacy. See the 2019 Todd Douglass Miller Documentary for more:
