For a variety of reasons, Staycations are in the news a lot. Rande and I have made it a practice for many years; great way to unwind, re-charge, get out of the apartment for a few days, boost the local economy, and enjoy a short vacation without traveling far!

It was a pleasure to present a proclamation last evening to our incredible Parks and Recreation Department! July is designated as Park and Recreation Month to highlight the vital role of parks and recreation in building strong, vibrant, and resilient communities.

The celebration emphasizes how parks and recreation foster community connections, provide safe spaces for recreation, and promote healthy lifestyles. As our city continues to grow, we cherish and continually expand and improve our green spaces.

Sapphire is a very special place; a condominium of wonderful people from all over the world and when we get together, it is always so much fun!

The July 4th BBQ is an annual event and today we muscled through a few sprinkles of rain to eat, drink, catch up with each other, get a chair massage, play water volleyball, and laugh a lot! Congrats to the South Tower for the 15-7 and 15-8 victory! Happy 4th of July!
