Responding to current public messaging about life with #dementia. Yes, dementia can be devastating, suffering may be an experience, day-to-day life might not feel like a fairy tale...no-one denies that, but how can people & families find a way to live with dementia without #hope

Sara Livadeas Alzheimer's Society of Maldives I’m increasingly disillusioned with Alzheimer's Society A loud campaign about failures in health and social care might make more difference to people with dementia and their families. But probably not as good for their fundraising.

Sara Livadeas Alzheimer's Society of Maldives The advert sounds truly awful. I am yet to see it aired on the television but people's comments Neil Crowther make it sound truly awful. People with dementia have much life left in them especially if you involve music. With the likes of Lost Chord UK

Dear Alzheimer's Society I've just found this excellent guide for the media about reporting dementia, and why using negative stereotypes should be avoided. Could you try reading it? After all, you wrote it.... alzheimers.org.uk/sites/default/…

For a charity to assert that a person with dementia has “died” (before they have died) is a huge miscalculation. It’s step backwards in framing disability and describing how people living with dementia disabled are supported. It’s not “hard-hitting”; it’s repulsive. Kate Lee

I am so proud of the work we do everyday in partnership with The Alzheimer Society of Ireland in Ireland. Our social care model supports those on their dementia journey to live well at home for as long as possible. Dementia advisors, memory clinics, day centres. We will all die, but only once.

James McKillop has a few things to say about the enduring humanity of people with dementia and the love and belonging that binds us. Not bad for a ‘dead’ fella eh Alzheimer's Society bold-scotland.org/james-mckillop….

This - from George Rook this morning. PLEASE rethink Alzheimer's Society “I woke up this morning feeling utterly useless, pointless, and angry. I thought seriously about why I should go on living if it was so pointless.”

Dear Alzheimer's Society again, THIS is what a ‘hard watch’ really looks like to us, but nothing compared to how it should look to you. PLEASE reconsider.
