This is excellent. Another problem with the conference model is that it excludes those who cannot travel. This keeps out economically disadvantaged, those far away, those facing onerous visa hurdles, carers, and as we saw at FCRC, those kept out by hostile legislation.

I generally don’t speak about tenure cases: either I’m privy to inside information (so bound by confidentiality) or I lack the full picture (so can’t comment with much confidence). But the anonymous, cowardly bullying of Talia Ringer 🟣 🎗️ and Roopsha Samanta is totally unacceptable.
