After years of criticising the former government about fuel poverty and the cost of living, will Kingston & Surbiton Labour be opening their office as a “community warm space” this year to help the keep Kingston’s estimated 12,855 pensioners impacted by the cuts to winter fuel warm this winter?

At Corporate and Resources tonight, I will be questioning Kingston Council about the tendering process for the Kingfisher's battery storage system. Battery technology will unquestionably become a key component of future developments - its important the Council get it correct.

Great to catch up with residents in Kingston Town today concerning ongoing casework. Plenty of work to be done in each polling district given the continued absence of our elected “Councillors”

In 2018, Kingston Council's recycling rate was approximately 49.4%. By 2021, this had decreased to 48% and now, we have dropped to 46%. Alongside cutting £135,000 from the Tree Planting Scheme, something is surely going wrong with Kingston's approach towards a greener borough

When I was little, our local farmer would knock on the doors of all the children to let them know that the baby lambs had arrived and he would invite us to go and look at them in the barn through the door. Farmers do so much for their communities and deserve our support

Opposition activists and former candidates of all parties in Kingston frequently do more for their wards than elected Liberal Democrat Councillors (with a few exceptions). It’s time elected Lib Dem Councillors put action before allowances and residents before remuneration

If Ed is concerned about foreign money in politics, he should lead the way and donate the £5,000 of Chinese £££ his local association received in 2014 to a local Hong Konger charity, and investigate offers of donations to prospective Lib Dem candidates between 2015-8.

The policies of "East of Suez" were a long term disaster, consequential of Britain's withdrawal from Weiheiwei, Amoy and Hankow during the 1920s and 30s. Surrendering the Chagos Islands at the rumoured expense of £18b solely appeases Chinese interests bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

As someone who used to work for a Hospice, the National Insurance rise would cripple most clinical and fundraising operations. Hospices advertise ~1-2%+ salaries for nurses to be competitive with the NHS due to high turn overs. Most fundraising shops operate on a break-even basis

Yet there exists a continued silence from the Lib Dems concerning China’s stricter cap on foreign films under the guise of “protecting domestic markets” Evidently the campaign funds are lacking for the Lib Dems in Kingston next year…

This deal solely emboldens our nations largest enemy: China. The policy of “East of Suez” has, for the past decade, been dead in the water. This act of self harms makes Britain, our commonwealth and our Allies, over time, considerably less safe and more vulnerable
