Twitter has <240 million daily active users. If we assume that 10% are logged in at any given time, 500000 servers with 48 cores & 192GB RAM each means every active Twitter user gets their own CPU & 4GB RAM. Either this is an incomplete picture, or Twitter has a big perf problem.
