It feels trite to say “I am thrilled to announce” but I truly am THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE that today I have launched my own legal recruiting firm, Risepoint Search Partners (Risepoint Search Partners)
I recommend this Steve Vladeck post in its entirety, and especially the point that by deciding things it doesn't need to decide the Court is not only providing de facto immunity to Trump but creating a roadmap for future presidential misconduct: stevevladeck.substack.com/p/78-writing-a…
Steve Vladeck, as usual, brilliantly intuits what is going on with SCOTUS in the Trump immunity case suggesting '...they will make an error for the ages, rather than a rule for them.' stevevladeck.substack.com/p/78-writing-a…
In new piece on Trump immunity case, Steve Vladeck reminds SCOTUS of CJ Roberts’s “cardinal principle of judicial restraint”: “if it is not necessary to decide more, it is necessary not to decide more.” Decide THIS case, not one for the ages. stevevladeck.substack.com/p/78-writing-a…
Really good analysis of the immunity argument from Steve Vladeck.
I agree with him that the big problem is the Court's apparent desire to write an opinion 'for the ages,' when it should just narrowly resolve this case and leave more difficult questions for another day.
