Our team of volunteers were on hand to respond to >100 incidents in May. The spring weather certainly brought an increased demand for the service. We're pleased we were able to help patients and colleagues in South Central Ambulance Service. Only possible thanks to SCASCharity and HELP Appeal

Does critical care paramedic deployment improve delivery of post-...: Ingenta Connect. Specialist paramedics in this case SECAMB CCPs, to high acuity incidents regularly bring better patient outcomes. Can the same be said for wales CHARU paramedics?? ingentaconnect.com/contentone/tco…

Turns out my Snows Volvo V90 Cross Country is actually quite good off road (Every Scandinavian emergency service can't be wrong!) Did eventually get too narrow but saved a fair bit of walking (Still 6000 steps though) Rural responding life SCAS BASICS BASICS_HQ Safe Response

The chain of survival is vital and it works, recent incident, witnessed collapse in public, immediate CPR and then AED attached 2 shocks and ROSC achieved before I got there and ROSC sustained. And signs it’s going to be a complete recovery, the public were the life savers here.

Avoiding unrecognised oesophageal intubation The Russ Carney of America & Difficult Airway Society (DAS) have agreed to drop ‘no trace wrong place’ The message now is that we need to exclude oesophageal intubation by identifying SUSTAINED EXHALED CO2 This requires 4 elements -CO2 rises & falls with respiration

Don’t train until you get it right, train until you can’t get it wrong. Proud to say that WAST still support intubation but it’s a vital skill that needs regular practice. I feel it’s a skill that should still be a core paramedic skill. It’s still gold standard airway maintenance
