"Because of the Paralympics I developed discipline and a confidence that helped me to embrace my disability and focus on what my body could do rather than what it couldn’t. My body is strong – having one hand doesn’t change that." Learn More: bit.do/ellenk

When you run to make a bus (after eating) and you are no where near the bus stop, but the driver sees you and stops..... I think this made my whole day

This is the toasted sandwich I had at Loose Canon, Drury st. €20.50 with one glass of wine. I chose a basic, house wine. Service was not good either.

Mussolini was executed on this day in 1945. It’s not well known but in 1917 Mussolini was paid £6000 a week by MI5 to spread pro-war propaganda. Churchill extolled him and the Royal Family knighted him. In the 1930s Britain gave vital support to Italy’s war on Ethiopia.

In 1988 we saw 350,000 children paralyzed by polio. Last year we saw just 33 cases. This is because #VaccinesWork! As a #polio survivor, I’d love to see this disease fully eradicated. We’re almost there! #EndPolio #WorldImmunizationWeek

I attended the first ever Plant Based Doctors conference in the Mater Hospital, 8 hour conference on health, nutrition and integrated GP approach with wellness. Many consultants presented a wealth of studies backing the importance of more plants in the diet. #morevegforkids

I attended a seminar on Clinical Innovation in the Mater Hospital. This is an area where big investment is possible if you have a product that can make the medical profession a little easier, sometimes you need to think small to think big. #SpreadIdeas

His ideas are rooted in the belief that good business, consumerism, and capitalism - at its worse - can push people to want more - the latest models, the newest innovations, upgrading of oneself - rather than being happy and content with all that we are and all that we are not.
