Listening to this podcast at the gym. Looks like the same as many things like Eurostar, drive throughs (I ride through the night when the main restaurant is often closed) and then when I left the gym and climbed up the grassy bank as many do, to the shared use cycleway.

Here's a beautiful story of an Irish postman called Mike Sheehan, who cycled up to 30 miles a day for 42 years delivering post around Goleen in West Cork. While other postmen opted for cars and motorbikes because of the steep mountainous terrain, Mike never changed. His son

Stopped because a farmer was herding sheep along the road by waving a bag of sheep food at them to follow. Rain. Headwind. And I am not even in Wales yet! At least the "Milky Bar Kid" earworm has gone... #BrevetCymru #Porkers

Oh dear. No #Porkers for me this time. A week of bad recovery (I probably have *something*) I had doubts when I saw I was in the red before #BrevetCymru but thought I would try. Too slow. The #Whoop never lies...

My story of the Mersey Roads 24 on Strava Seems like quite a long story for a relatively short ride, so I hope you enjoy if you decide to read but I enjoyed writing and that's enough for me. strava.app.link/JuGQwIj2ULb

I'd be grateful for any help, especially from Tern Bicycles or anyone that works with Tern GSDs that use Enviolo for hubs. Are they usually specced with Alfine chain tensioners and if so, do they come in several versions? Thanks in advance.

Tomorrow at 0600 Hannah Fawcett and Ede Harrison (Liverpool Braveheart BC) will set off from the Land's End Hotel South door. They are attempting four (!) women's tandem records - 12 hrs, 24 hrs, Land's End to John O'Groats and 1000 miles. Tracking link live.kongtracking.com/JAHRJ2024/

Maybe Deliveroo can do something like this with the delivery backpacks because they really slow you down. Not sure about a backpack full of air though. Bad enough getting a puncture in a tyre...

Looks like @lachlanmorton could shelve a lot of ultra distance records for some time. He also took Mike Hall's Tour Divide record by over a day, if I have that right.

Just got a bargain train ticket to and from Carlisle so I can have a 5 day mini tour in Scotland where I can wild camp. Β£42 for the round trip. Works out cheaper than paying camp site fees in England.

Didn't quite make it to the bothie last night. I got about a mile away and could see the flames of the Forest Fire, so fled to another area.

A few months ago Deliveroo was bad because it was low paid slave labour. Now, apparently, it facilitates a life of luxury for "people we don't like" getting Β£1000 a week. It's possible in London but this is what it takes youtu.be/AxFpgaG_nbg?si…

Rule of diminishing returns applies. Furthermore, this is only average speed, which will inevitably get hammered once you don't have the road all to yourself and don't have traffic lights, turns at junctions and other hazards.
