Presumably he will tell him there is no way his government will approve a 50-year extension Woodside’s climate destroying North West Shelf gas EXPORT terminal that will cause 4.3 BILLION tonnes of emissions and make floods more frequent and extreme….

Over 800,000 Australian homes are not fully insured, including many with mortgages. This poses serious risks to both homeowners and the broader economy. Taxing fossil fuel companies and investing in a National Climate Disaster Fund would help keep Australians safe.

Miranda Stewart knows more about tax than the combination of all economists and columnists who have written about it in the AFR. Not surprisingly, she is also much more sensible than all those wannabe experts who have criticised the changes afr.com/policy/tax-and…

It's clear there's been political interference into a report on the gas industry threat in Murujuga, and experts are speaking out. It's the most important rock art site in the world, but Government won't stand in the way of Woodside wanting more gas. Stephen Long #auspol

Just for context - 1.64m people are employed in WA. But yeah 900 jobs (reminder not even “new” jobs) is worth helping destroy ancient rock art and make climate change worse. (While also gifting that “major employer” $200bn in free gas to sell)

Murujuga is one of Australia's most precious heritage sites. But it's being slowly destroyed by gas industry emissons. Our new must-watch video report from Stephen Long covers the threat to some of the oldest rock art in the world 📺 youtu.be/Bj9VOMKYxSI #auspol

Today the total profits and labour costs etc for Australian industry sectors for 2023-24 was released. It is quite revealing which sectors get the favourable treatment such as $215bn gift from the govt of free gas to sell....

Council rates & land tax are both taxes on unrealised earnings. Sky hasn't fallen yet. The tax system is full of unindexed thresholds, starting with the tax scale itself. All of them can be - and are - adjusted when they get out of line. Sure you're not just finding excuses?

Really dumb question. It’s nearly all export gad and most of the domestic demand comes from petrochemical plants that have sprung up to feed off the Woodside gas.
