Me: “Ooh, look at those new Allbirds (shoes); that’s a neat color!” Also me: “I’ve pretty much only worn sandals since I started working from home.” 😂

I’m reading a book on architecture, and WOW—I think this nearly sums up my approach to design! 😍 All of these—but especially items 4, 5, 8, and 9—do a great job articulating the nuanced details of a learning focus (over say a delivery or shipping focus).

Stephen P. Anderson Nataniel (Nate) Author here. I think your real concern may be with being "procedure driven," which is different from being process driven. The former suggests predetermined methods and to a large extent, a predetermined outcome. The latter is much more open-ended.

Thinking doesn’t happen exclusively in the brain. As Stephen P. Anderson and Karl Fast explain in “Figure It Out,” you understand things by interacting with them in the world. As Andy Clark said, “Cognition leaks out into the body and the world.” bit.ly/3CbTSOD

Same message, different explanation: -Give form to ideas -Manipulate those forms -Do this together -> to solve complex problems We not only need to practice taking notes, but also develop our ability to work with notes (skills & tools!) to create understanding.

Thinking about the intentional design of collaboration… This could be a great framework for speakers to be explicit about how they’d like others to listen. 🤔 [~Kind of like good critique practices, where you frame the type of feedback you’re looking—and not looking—for]
