Really happy to see the much more comprehensible style guide for the Journal of Egyptian Archaeology come into effect in this issue. Well done The Egypt Exploration Society, Claudia Naeser & Dr Stephanie Boonstra! 👏🤓
Spent a lovely morning at Ifao - Institut français d'archéologie orientale printers, including seeing their impressive museum of 100+ yr old Egyptological printing presses. Spot the scarab type! 🪲
The preparations continue! Meeting at the The Egyptian Museum المتحف المصري this afternoon to discuss logistics. Watch this space to see what we’ve been up to! 👀 The Egypt Exploration Society
Really enjoyable visit to AUC Rare Books Lib to meet with Amr Kamel and view some of the huge and amazing collection of rare books and archive - much of the archive focussing on documents and work of some of the most prolific Egyptian Egyptologists. AUC AUC Main Library
We're delighted to launch a walking trail in the The Egyptian Museum المتحف المصري highlighting 12 discoveries made during The Egypt Exploration Society excavations since 1882. 10 early-career Egyptian scholars, participants of our Egyptological Archives Skills School, researched the panels. ℹ️ees.ac.uk/resource/disco…
Was such an honour to work with 10 amazing Egyptian scholars and the The Egyptian Museum المتحف المصري to have a Walking Trail exhibition in Egypt’s “Mother Museum”. Was a lot of work but really proud to see @theEES banners welcoming all the visitors to the museum!
Last night at The Egypt Exploration Society Cairo lecture, Carl Graves demonstrated that, once again, there is so much more to learn about our founder Amelia Edwards. Visually and intellectually stimulating and nice to see Dr Anna Garnett pop up too! Thanks to Essam Nagy & British Council for hosting!
Fun to briefly crash the Ancient World Tours The Egypt Exploration Society members’ tour led by Carl Graves this morning! Hope you all enjoy the new The Egyptian Museum المتحف المصري walking trail!!
