For this week’s Nephron Friday Feature, meet the brilliant Stella Kliduff, MD, MS! Stella joined our faculty as one of the transplant nephrologists a little over a year ago after fellowship at Montefiore Pediatrics and we are so fortunate to have her!

One of Stella’s many interests is the role metabolic acidosis plays in accelerating GFR decline in children with chronic kidney disease, including those who have received a kidney transplant. Last year she was awarded the competitive NKF young investigator award for this work!

In addition, she recently authored a compelling perspective piece published in @CJASN on the need for more rigorous trials of alkali therapy in slowing GFR decline in patients with CKD, check it out! journals.lww.com/cjasn/citation…
