Guidelines for Christian Leaders / Pastors in the Public Square: 1. Recognize everything you say represents Jesus. 2. Leave the most positive impression you can about Jesus 3. Say it in the kindest, most loving, humble, positive way you can 4. Disagree graciously

Thread: Someone asked me if I'm really seeing COVID cases in my practice, or if the media is "full of shit". My response: I'm seeing EXACTLY what's being reported, including excessive patient deaths, specifically from COVID. /1

Often when we say, “the end justifies the means” we’re not actually talking about the end. We’re talking about a pit stop on the way to the end that is desirable to us. And if we saw the true end we would disagree with our own evaluation.

You just don’t have to say “I disagree with her often, but I respect her.” or “I disagree with him a lot, but he’s a good person.” Cut the first part. Let’s stop subtly reinforcing the idea that full agreement with someone is normally necessary to respect or learn from them.

You can support the 2A and be thoroughly sickened by candidates for elected office waving guns around in the public square. Firearms are weapons and should be treated as such, not as toys or expressions of your identity. In elections, they imply violence where it has no place.

My favorite thing about Twitter is when someone comments on someone else’s tweet with some snark and then as you scroll through the comments you see that they thought of something better, so they comment that too. #seewhatsticks

It is almost frustratingly repetitive in Scripture: do not fear. So you cannot stoke fear in a godly way. You cannot drum up people's anxieties for the glory of God. Fearmongering on behalf of a "good cause" does not make it right. We should be vigilant about this.
