Senior Infants have been learning all about Autumn and that the farmer is busy harvesting their crops. We looked at the story of wheat and the process it goes through to be made into flour. We read the story of The little red hen and today we made bread in school.

Ms. Kelly’s 6th class paired up with Ms. Walsh’s 2nd class last Friday afternoon for Maths Week. The boys and girls completed a variety of maths tasks. Everyone had great fun and managed to resist the temptation of eating all the marshmallows! 😃

Last week for maths week Ms Kearney’s junior infants paired up with Ms O’Sullivans/Ms Long’s 3rd class. The boys and girls in 3rd class were teaching the junior infants all about patterns using bears, links, pegs and cubes. Well done to 3rd class for being fantastic teachers 👏

Senior Infants came together today and had great fun making slime! Happy Halloween everybody 🎃

Freaky Friday was so much fun today. The children were all dressed up in amazing costumes and we went for a "Freaky Friday" walk up the street. All classes got to go into a different classroom for part of the day too 😀

Thanks to everyone who supported The Shoebox Appeal 2022. We had 186 Christmas shoeboxes collected today. They will be shipped all over the world over the next few weeks. Thanks for helping make a child smile with joy this Christmas when they open your thoughtful present 🎁

Junior Infants learned all about Halloween in Aistear. We used lots of new language and talked about all the ingredients we were adding to the cauldron. We took turns being the witch and we were casting spells on each other! 🧙‍♀️

Congratulations to Sarah McIlroy on her recent success at the Sciath na Scol football skills competition which was held in Páirc Uí Chaoimh. She competed against girls from the county and was awarded 3rd place. This was a huge achievement and we are all very proud.

Miss Wall and Ms Power’s Senior Infants preformed their play ‘What A Star’ on Friday. We are so proud of all of their hard work and they will always be stars in our eyes!

5th class have been learning about weight this week and put their knowledge into practice with some baking! We have some star bakers in the school 😋🍪

We were so lucky to have Aoife Healy and Abigail Ring both Cloyne & Senior Ladies Footballers visit our school today to show us the All Ireland Minor Cup and Munster Minor Cup which they both won with the Cork team last August. What a great achievement for them 🏆 ⚽️ 👏

St Colman’s Sciath na Scol hurling team played their first game today against Little Island. They played very well and it was great to have a win on home ground! Best of luck to the team for the rest of their matches 👍 ☘️

Planting trees to mark National Tree Week 🌳

Junior Infants were hard at work in the polytunnel today. We planted cabbages and can't wait to watch them grow 🥬
