The session "Urban social movements and the reinvention of cities since the 1970s" offered several case studies, e.g. by @hannesrolf on rent strikes & by @jhnpries on People's Parks, both in Sweden, while Eline Inghelbrecht spoke on the Brussels journal "La Ville et l'Habitant"

Ostrava has really surprised me as a city in a good way. It has a complex history and that is evident within the landscape. However, with my urban history and place management hat on, I'm intrigued as it continues it's journey of reinvention.

The session "Housing policies and urban transformations in Europe and beyond as a result of refugee flows" referred to the period after the First World War, presenting case studies on Germany (by @dtemplin.bsky.social) and Greece/Turkey (by Kalliopi Amygdalou & Athina Vitopoulou, among others) #EAUH2024

In his keynote on "Urban History in Earth Time: Cities and the Anthropocene", Carl Nightingale presented a fascinating overview on several thousand years of urban history, highlighting questions of power, time and space #EAUH2024 #urbanhistory #anthropocene
