Following a Senate Committee on Indian Affairs field hearing on the impacts of overcrowded housing, we visited homes in Savoonga to help further understand the stark reality communities face when it comes to lack of housing & housing affordability.

While the living conditions of overcrowded homes were heartbreaking, we also had a chance to see some of the new homes being constructed-- just a fraction of what is needed but a positive step towards creating a healthier, happier future for the community of Savoonga.
