Finally saw Wenders' Perfect Days -a beautiful intersection of Wenders' love of Ozu's poetry of every day life and Wenders' own outsider's view and love of Japan. It juxtaposes moments of humour and whimsy alongside moving glimpses of longing and loneliness. #Wenders #Ozu

Excited to see the BFI Southbank programming a lengthy season on stop motion animation (August/September/Early October). It is an excellent programme and well timed for my research on Horror Animation. I'll be there catching up on some classics.#horrorNU

The hotly anticipated 4K restoration of the Hitcher is now available for pre-order. I ordered my copy on Wednesday . I can’t wait to get it. It is jammed pack with loads of extras. It is one of my favourite 1980s films. It looks amazing and Rutger Hauer is terrifying.

Very happy to have contributed an essay to this special issue of the Journal of Popular Television on Ted Lasso. Thanks to @S_Mittermeier for her outstanding and Ted Lasso-like leadership. Can’t wait to read the other essays.

Just finished reading this fantastic and unsettling book by Paul Tremblay. Very creepy and a fascinating exercise in storytelling . I was hooked by the opening pages. Definitely worth a try for the horror fan. #horrornu #paultremblay

I saw 'I Saw the TV Glow' yesterday and it did not disappoint. It is beautiful, unsettling, hypnotic, disturbing, moving. It has so much to express about how we relate to our identities, bodies, environments. It stretches our understanding of what horror can be.#horrorNU

Can a nearly 100 year old movie still scare us? Did VAMPYR partly inspire SAW sequel JIGSAW? And is that Mark Twain in the cast? These and other questions are answered in our latest episode with Stacey Abbott as our guest. Listen below πŸ‘‡πŸ» open.spotify.com/episode/4lZael…
