Coastal ecosystems like #saltmarshes are important, but declining reservoirs for #biodiversity and #carbon .
Led by Candice Lumibao, we synthesised current knowledge on the root fungal diversity of coastal plants.

Want to know if hybrid engineered structures improve mangrove seedling survival? Then check out this new paper led by Amanda Hsiung! Available here: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
🌍 Each year, lots of #plastic ends up in #coastalwetlands . But, could plastics accumulated in these ecosystems be the “lesser of evils”?💡Spoiler alert: It may be better than accumulating elsewhere.

#ReGenOurCoasts summer updates! Mangrove seedlings are growing well, and new seeds are snugly secured in BESE structures. Saltmarsh trials have had more mixed results. Huge thanks to our #BlueCarbonArmy for planting 800 seeds and monitoring 600 plots! Stay tuned for more news🌱
Led by Fernanda Adame our new article on #decomposition in #upperestuarineforests came out the day at #CERF2023 when they being discussed heavily and I met Dr Trevathan-Tackett, 1st time, what are the odds, Read more about #microbes at work link.springer.com/article/10.100… Prof. Peter Macreadie

Grey mangroves have a tough upbringing- battling waves, storms, & high salinity as they grow. #ReGenOurCoasts aims to uncover whether tough love is needed for them to thrive, or if raising seedlings in a nursery during vulnerable stages of development can boost their survival.
It’s seeding season for Salicornia! If you've noticed tips of saltmarsh looking dry and unhappy, don’t worry– it means the plants have successfully released their seeds for dispersal. Lately we’ve been taking a good look at these tiny seeds for their potential to #ReGenOurCoasts !
