Just as I was starting to cook dinner the guys rebuilding our fence from Hurricane #Beryl hit the gas line. Waiting around in the heat for Centerpoint to show up sucks so I took the kids to IHOP There are only 2 people working. IF we get food how much do I tip this poor guy?😭😂

I was not at all prepared for the fact that there is a SECOND week of school immediately after the first. I am not ok with this 6:28am high school bus thing. 🥴🫣🫠

So far at bedtime 10 has asked “do I have to go to school tomorrow?” It’s been 4 days y’all. 🥴 He followed that up with “How do deaf people learn to talk if they can’t hear?” “Why is braille dots and not just raised letters?” “How do accents work, like how do they start?”

Adulting/parenting feels like learning to ride a bike. You wobble and lurch then you get going and think “Look at me!! Look at me!! I’m Doing It!” Then you crash head-on into that tree you didn’t see because you were busy celebrating your success. Get up. Repeat. 🫠

I’m sitting next to an elderly couple in a waiting room who are speaking Arabic (I think?). I cannot understand a word they are saying but the tone and patter of their conversation/voices sounds exactly like my grandparents.
