York and Edwardsville scoreless after the opening quarter in a Class 8A first round matchup in Elmhurst.

York and Edwardsville tied at 7-apiece at halftime. Bruno Massel with a 19-yard TD run for the Dukes. The QB has rushed for 45 yards and thrown for 39.

York now up 16-7 over Edwardsville after a safety.

A Massel TD pass and 2-point conversion gives York a 24-7 lead over Edwardsville in the third quarter.

Massel’s third TD run, this one from 46-yards out, and York extends lead to 31-7. He has 155 yards rushing and three scores and is 9-for-9 through the air with a TD.

Willowbrook leads St. Rita 3-0 after the first quarter. Romano made a 46-yard field goal for the Warriors.

St. Rita leads Willowbrook 7-3 at half. Warriors QB Jabonise Reed left the game in the second quarter with an injury.

Willowbrook still within 7-3 of St. Rita heading to the fourth quarter. Warriors’ defense has been outstanding and Mustangs have missed four field goals.

St. Rita returns a fumble 15-yards for a score and now leads Willowbrook 21-3 with 8:07 left.

DGN and Fenwick scoreless after the opening quarter in a Class 7A second round matchup

Jake Gregorio breaks a scoreless tie with a 3-yard TD run with 45 seconds left in the second quarter, giving DGN a 7-0 halftime lead over Fenwick.
