I want to share what I think about MDs. I love each and everyone that busted their ass, borrowed too much money, sacrificed more than we can ever quantify, in hopes of helping their patients. Medicine is an imprecise science. The uncertainties far outnumber the absolutes.

Imagine if we told patients with familial hypercholesterolemia to just “will” their LDL down 200 mg/dl, shame them for not being able to do it on their own, & refuse to prescribe them life saving meds? That’s how many physicians treat patients with obesity. GLP1RAs change lives.

I’m proud to proclaim today as Abortion Provider Appreciation Day in Illinois. To the clinic staff and volunteers who help those in need and treat their patients with dignity and compassion: thank you for the critical and lifesaving work you do. #CelebrateAbortionProviders

Big update today! The SELECT trial shows Semaglutide (Wegovy) caused ⬇️ 20% reduction in major cardiovascular events over 5 years in people with obesity (w/o diabetes). Glad to see this on paper finally. Treatment of obesity is prevention and treatment of heart disease.

First #obesityweek as a fellow in the books! I’m thankful for all the mentorship received this weekend. The future of obesity medicine is astounding. Here’s to hoping we can address equity and accessibility as the science progresses The Obesity Society Obesity Medicine Fellowship Council

Of the many things that happen in a hospital when the power goes out, one haunts my memory, a story I have also heard over and over from other doctors who also worked in a hospital when it suddenly went dark A thread about mothers and their children👇🏽

There's a shortage of primary care physicians—hardly news. The real story is why. Federal policies have decimated primary care through reduced reimbursement and support for corporate consolidation, snuffing out independent practices. Only the DPC models have managed to
