Rijndael 😸 Context on the "core dev hacked my transifex repository" claim: He was given a modicum of control and he chose to lock out core devs from the Bitcoin core localization project and use it for his personal project (knots). The "hack" was that he didn't own the repository and his

People are asking about "Luke being hacked/removed from the Transifex" so here is the full IRC log from that day. erisian.com.au/bitcoin-core-d… Here is a summary (please do your own reading + let me know if you think this is misrepresentative and I'm happy to edit it): 1. Translators

gloria Luke had a bizarre claim of ownership over the repo because he was one of the early admins. My point then was it doesn't matter who was there first or who added who. The repo belongs to the community.

A side-effect of Bitcoin is how working in open source software has become a feasible career. Don't be fooled, most of the funding put to this end comes from companies that see no direct ROI. Anyone complaining about devs being funded has no clue what a major win this is.

Who would have expected that direct communication channels with miners would be created to bypass non-standarness rules. It was impossible to predict.

People complaining about Bitcoin devs being funded by altruistic sources to work in open source is the most retarded thing I've seen in a while. This is why we cannot have nice things.

And people are listening to this clown. Imagine going to a PR and being like: NACK, I don't like you. We discuss ideas, not people.

I'm not saying Mechanic is garbage, but misrepresenting Bitcoin Core's point of view using the opinion of a developer who has not actively contributed to the project in years is something only a garbage person would do.

Sergi Delgado ⚡ (@sr_gi) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It means that your opinion doesn't matter as long as the rules of the protocol are followed. The fact that you cannot change this despite spreading misinformation left and right is the perfect example that the permissionless and censorship resistant properties are working.

Just in case you had any doubt that Luke is completely delusional. Transactions he doesn't like are not transactions at all, and the code is getting tricked to accept them. Miner incentives and millions of dollars in fees have nothing to do with it.

Sergi Delgado ⚡ (@sr_gi) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Checks again. Mechanic still works for Luke's company. He still talks shit about a company that literally funds developers to work on Bitcoin open source. No asks. When are you changing consensus to make those transactions you hate so much actually invalid?
