I have learned that casting makes or breaks your movie, no matter how good the screenplay is.

Doesn't matter what state the movie industry is in. You still gotta create the stories you're passionate about and find a way to get the made.

You're never too late, or too old, to start your first script, to write your first story, to break into Hollywood. That's the beauty and frustration of this town. But if making movies is a part of your journey, a part of your creative outlet, you'll find a way. Keep writing.

A screenplay is, ultimately, a blueprint for a movie. There is an art to writing a script that makes it read quicker, and stimulate the imagination more. But your audience isn't readers. It's buyers. You are trying to tell a story that should appear on the big screen.

If your heart tells you want to write a script, no matter what place in your life you are. Just do it. As long as it's enjoyable, write the dang thing. You never know what can happen if you don't try. Write on.

Having A.I. make your movie for you actually defeats the main reason I got into making movies and the reason I keep doing this wild industry - because, shocker, I actually like the creation part of making the movie. That's the whole point.

Making movies is fun. Creation is fun. Navigating how to make a career in an industry full of uncertainty can be a rollercoaster of emotions. Ground yourself in your favorite thing about the movies. It is a long game.

The new Frankenstein movie from Guillermo del Toro is fantastic. Try telling me cinema isn't alive and well, after watching it.
