This is Xuejing Hu, PhD student at the Leibniz Institute in Bonn. Xuejing Hu works on the project "Recurring phenotypic loss: Repeatability of genome and regulatory evolution." 🐝
Guest speaker Liucong Ling gave a really interesting presentation about decoding cis-regulation in Drosophila🪰 in our Gevol Focus Group Meeting for Epigenetic and Gene Regulation. Thanks.
2 OPEN POSITIONS in our group Mainz University : #PhD on consequences of genomic changes during the evolution of ant slavery and #Postdoc to uncover the evolution and molecular regulation of insect cognition. More info here -> blogs.uni-mainz.de/fb10-evolution…
Our Gevol members PosnienLab - moved to: @posnienlab.bsky.social and @AnaGCatalan are invited speakers at the Spirit Summer School in Göttingen sponsered among others by SPP 2349 GEvol this year. Topic "Frontiers in Molecular Zoology"
Thankful that so many GEvol members were able to attend our successful annual Meeting at the Museum König in Bonn. Thanks again to our invited speakers Dr. Josefa González, @SchwanderTanja and Michael Hiller.
The #PriorityProgramme "Genomic Basis of Evolutionary Innovations" SPP 2349 GEvol will start its second three year #funding in late 2025. The #DFG invites new proposals until 29 April 2025. More information: dfg.de/de/aktuelles/n…
Thanks to Dino McMahon, Julius Rombach, @JHeckenhauer, @bornberglab our GEvol project was perfectly represented at the #ice2024kyoto.
2nd day Gevol meeting started with a great talk by Kristen Panfilio, we had a student meeting during our lunch break and a cool tour through the collection. Last but not least: typical Frankfurt dinner with Apfelwein.
3rd day of our Gevol Meeting with great talks by our invited speaker @GenomeHecker and Eyal Privman. Our students gave really amazing talks about their projects as well. Thanks to the Senckenberg Research for welcoming our Gevol Family this year.
