Sheep & solar, the collab we didn’t know we needed. This relationship is being tested out in Massachusetts. The farm has 15,000 panels, and 200+ sheep. The family-owned farm is paid for keeping low vegetation between the panels. Using sheep instead of mowers reduces emissions.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, is one of Dubai’s key initiatives aiming to produce 75 percent of the city’s energy requirements from clean sources by 2050. It is the largest solar park in the world with a 5000MW capacity planned by 2030.

The 11 solar mechanical trees are located in the Bay South Garden. They not only generate solar energy, but also collect rainwater. The trees are merely a small part of this eco-tourist project that includes the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome (climate-controlled biomes).

WELIOS – OÖ Science Center is located in Wels, Austria. The building was created as a way to generate over 15000 kWh of clean energy per year. All in all, it is a beautiful demonstration of the museum’s main theme - renewable energy and its capabilities.

The new headquarters of EWE & Bursagaz, are a true representation of an environmentally friendly, modern office. The solar PV mosaic reduced energy use by 28%. Another great example of the panels absorbing solar radiation without blocking natural light from coming inside.

NEW-Blauhaus is part of the Niederrhein University’s campus. Glass panes are placed between the panels at opposing angles, allowing daylight to filter into the interior and creating a highly efficient design. Resulting in a visually impressive and carbon neutral building.

China have managed to create a solar powered mountain, in further attempts to switch to renewable energy. The PVs can replace 7,500 tonnes of coal every year. The impressive capacity of 20 MW, however we cannot forget this design was placed over a large forest area.
