On Friday, Year 11 students from Spires Academy who are working towards a grade 5 in Maths came together with the other three secondary schools in the Orion Trust for an intensive and focused learning experience led by expert Maths teachers from the trust

Today our Year 10s engaged in mock interviews. The employers were highly impressed by the students’ confidence, articulate responses and polished presentation. Well done, Year 10! Thank you to Mrs Clarke for all the work in setting this up.

Our Year 9 students had an exciting opportunity to take part in hands-on creative workshops with EKC College. Given a film genre and storyline, they designed costumes, makeup, promotional posters and even hair!

At Spires we are super proud of our careers programme led by Mrs Clarke. Today pupils who are interested in joining the forces got the chance to visit an aircraft carrier at His Majesty's Royal Naval Base in Portsmouth. Thank you to Mr Reygate for driving this lucky bunch.

Today we held the first of our interhouse speaking competitions with Year 7 giving speeches on hobbies and their interests. Well done to all of our students who spoke in front of the year group! Martha was the winner by 1 point!! That means 500 points added to Attenborough!
